This morning I read a blog from Propel Women by Ana Munoz, and it was exactly what I needed for this current season of my life. You see, there is something that I am personally struggling with…and no matter how much I try to get rid of it, it always seems to creep back in. I don’t know what you guys are struggling with…but just wanted to share what I read, with the hopes that it encourages you as much as it encouraged me.

Just a little reminder….we ALL get it wrong every single day. We ALL mess up. Nobody is better than anyone. We all have our flaws, and we all struggle with something.

I know some days I mess up at my job and it gets me to think if I’m really doing what God has called me to do. Some days I’m so hard on myself because I think I’m not doing enough at church or in ministry. Other days I feel like I could be a better person because I feel like I don’t spend enough time with the people in my life. Some days I try and do everything and get it done with perfection, and then it turns out that nothing gets done at all. Other days I say things I shouldn’t say, and beat myself up about it for weeks. Most days I try so hard not to do “that thing” I know I want to overcome in my personal life, but I end up giving in anyway. And honestly, sometimes I try to distance myself from God because I don’t want to do what he’s asking of me…either because it means I need to let go of something I don’t want to let go of, or do something that scares me.

BUT something I read in the blog this morning is…. “If you look for your weakness, you’ll see your weakness. If you look for God’s power… you’ll see His power everywhere.”

How many of you guys can relate? I’m constantly thinking about my mistakes and where I fall short,  instead of focusing on God’s power.

You guys…no matter how hard YOU try in whatever you are going through, in whatever weakness you are struggling in…NOTHING will change your situation or help you BUT GOD. Don’t run from him, but run to Him! Without him, we are powerless.

“‘…My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

In this verse, Paul was asking God to take away a weakness/struggle that he was going through. But what God says is amazing. He says that He is going to give us the strength and break the chains of whatever is tying us down. In our weakness God’s power is exactly what we need to be able to overcome any obstacles we are currently facing.

I love how Ana Munoz puts this. “God is the power to overcome your weakness. He is the answer. He’s big enough for your struggle you can’t shake, for your expectation you can’t meet, for your goal you can’t hit, for your strength that won’t sustain you…He is. He is the hope. He is the resurrection. He is the life. He is literally anything you could possibly need. In your weakness, He is strong.”

Hope this was a reminder to you that you are not alone in whatever situation you are finding yourself in. Also, remember to reach out to someone you trust for some help! There’s nothing wrong with talking to a mentor about what you are going through. But in the end…it really takes your decision of completely allowing God in to even the darkest places of your life. Remember, he’s not surprised of where you find yourself. He’s your strength. He’s got it.
